When you’re just starting out in a business, Its important that you all read as much as you can! I don't know any successful person who doesn't read. Yes, watching youtube videos like mine or reading blog posts like mine can help, but books give so much insight into the world that honestly, a video or even a blog can’t always give.
I know, we’re in a digital era so this might not be taken seriously but this is important!
It's necessary that you, as Christian business owners, read books that are secular.
GASP!
I know. I'm a heathen, but without these books you can run risk of working in areas incorrectly.
God has given so many people the knowledge, wisdom and skillset to inform people like you and me how to do things in our businesses. A lot of times, these people may not write books that are Christian based or even about God. But my question is, would you rather have a secular book that talks about generational wealth, gives full instructions and tips that can make you twice your income? Or would you rather not know that information because of fear of the unknown.
Now personally, I read a mix of secular personal development books, and christian based books. Some of my favorite authors are John Maxwell, Jeff Olson, Sandra McCollom, and more. All the books I recommend for you are linked in this blog.Now not to confuse you, I want you to know that the Bible is the ultimate book you need to read for EVERY situation. But what happens when you need help with sales? What happens when you need to invest into something smart and you don’t want to do what everyone else is doing? What do you do when you need instruction on how to start your career?
You learn.
In college we don't read christian based books (unless you're in a Christian or Bible class). None of my books had one world about God in them, yet I still learned so much about myself, my career and my passion for the purpose God has for me.
If you are struggling with scaling in your business/ ministry the time is now to start reading some books that can help guide you into higher levels of success.
